A Doctor of Public Administration student from Tarlac State University won the Best Conference Paper award in an international joint research conference held at the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia last November 5-7, 2024.
Under the guidance of Dr. Edwin T. Caoleng, College of Public Administration and Governance Dean, Commander Errol N. Dela Cruz, PN was named one of the three best Conference papers during the 2024 International Joint Conference of Eastern Regional Organization of Public Administration (EROPA), Asian Association of Public Administration (AAPA), Asian Group of Public Administration (AGPA), and the Indonesia Association of Public Administration (IAPA).
Dela Cruz is a military consultant/assistant at the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Assessments and International Affairs of the Department of National Defense.
He finished his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management at the Philippine Military Academy in 2006 and completed his graduate studies at the Loughborough University London with a Master of Science in Security, Peacebuilding, and Diplomacy with First Class Honours (Distinction) in 2001.
His research paper, titled "Hybridity in Mindanao Conflict and Peace Efforts: A Case Study of the Intergroup Tensions and Peacebuilding Efforts in Mindanao Using the Post-Liberal Hybrid Peace Framework," bested hundreds of research entries from over 27 countries around the world.
The conference is open for academicians, practitioners, and scholars with research papers focused on the AAPA-EROPA-AGPA-IAPA main theme, "Towards World Class Bureaucracy," and sub-themes like post-pandemic bureaucracy, digital transformation and bureaucracy, and the like.
Selected research papers will be considered for publication in the Public Administration and Development, Jurnal Sosial dan Politik, Policy and Governance Review, Jurnal Bisnis dan Birokrasi, and Korean Journal of Policy Studies.
Present at the International Joint Conference were Dean Caoleng, DPA Chairperson Dr. Roswald G Fermin, DPA student Commander Mark Anthony Pazziuagan, PN, and some faculty members from the Graduate School.
Meanwhile, Dr. Caoleng and Dr. Fermin also presented their papers during the conference. (jlmm-OPA)
