Tarlac State University President Dr. Arnold E. Velasco led the oathtaking for the newly elected officers of the Supreme Student Council, college student councils, and the Laboratory School's Supreme Student Government earlier this afternoon (July 4) at the CASS Theater Room, Main Campus.

Pres. Velasco stressed the importance of student leaders' availability, especially for the students.

“It’s not enough that you have the ability and capability but the most important is your availability,” he said.

“Ibibigay ko ang full support ko. Makakaasa po kayo na gagawin ko po ang lahat with my officials at the university,” Pres. Velasco added.

He also advised the newly elected officers to learn how to become "servant leaders" to be considered a "great leader."

Moreover, COMSELEC Adviser Prof. Winifredo L. Luis urged the officers to lead their respective constituencies effectively through communication and negotiation.

Meanwhile, Dr. Gladie Natherine G. Cabanizas, Student Development Services assistant director, formally introduced the new set of officers and granted certificates of recognition.

Incoming SSC President Ma. Angelica A. Fresnido from the College of Education envisions her term to be filled with dedication, commitment, and love.

“Ito lang naman ang gusto ko for this academic year, na kahit nakakapagod, kahit na nagkakagulo-gulo na, maging pahinga 'yung konseho,” Fresnido said. (jlmm-OPA)
